I am having a problem with my monitor. I had a GeForce video card and
just recently put a ATI 9600 SE in my computer. The problem I am
having is that my monitor will support 1280x1024 but when I move the
resolution up to that size it doesn't fit. I can move my mouse around
the edges of my monitor screen and the screen will shift. It is
almost like my monitor is only showing me a little bit of the size it
should be. What do I need to change so that my monitor will work
properly in the 1280x1024 setting? Thanks for your help.

Go to display properties --> settings --> advanced --> displays. Here you
see all the possible displays (CRT, TV, etc) 00> click the bar that says
'monitor'. Here you get some properties of your CRT screen. Unselect 'Use
DDC', and input your own max res and max refresh.
