ATI 3D RAGE II+ PCI shows only 2Mb RAM!

I've just upgraded the video card in an old P233-MMX machine (VXPro
mainboard) from a 2Mb Mach64 to a 16Mb 3D RAGE II+. Win2k (SP4)
autodetects the card as a 3D RAGE II+ and installs the right driver,
but swears that the card has only 2Mb RAM. lspci under linux shows
that it has the full 16Mb, which is what the splash screen says when I
power on.

I went to ati.com and found no mention of this problem. When I put the
BIOS p/n (113-40602-101, from the Win2k adapter properties screen)
into the ati product ID engine, it told me it's a "3D CHARGER 2MB" -
so it looks like that's the problem.

Any ideas how I can tell Win2k that this card actually has 16Mb of
RAM? Is there an updated driver anywhere?

Thanks for any tips and happy xmas,

This is a function of the driver and not Windows. The only thing you can
do is get a different driver. However that reporting problem will
probably not impact performance.

Thanks for the response - the current driver is 5.00.2184, provided by
Win2k (SP4). The ATI site shows only an older one (2179 I think), but
I'll give it a try.

I guess performance is ok, but I can't get 1024x768 in full colour
unless it recognises the extra RAM!
