Im sure its something to do with clock multipliers etc but Im a bit thick on that subject. Please help if you can.

So, instead of doing any experimentation, or research, you decided to post
off-topic in a Windows group...? Do some research and answer your own
question...Hint: Who makes the CPU?

The Athlon 2600 is 2.13 GHz. The Device Manager will show the gigahertz.

Is your Front Side Bus in the BIOS still set to 100? That is the default
for Athlon processors. Increase the FSB to 133 and post back the GHz
results.

My Device Manager is showing Athlon XP 2000+. I had it confused with my
other PC which is a 1.1 gig Athlon.

Like you read it you mean?! If you'd bothered to read my post properly you'd
have seen I was more helpful than you actually deserved. And stop posting
questions that are totally unrelated to Windows here.

First off a Device manager question is part of windows, you dumb ass. Second
if you don't like the question just move on. People like you that just
complain about others for NO reason should be kept off the NG. Don't waist
you time complaining, you are worse than an old woman.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with Windows, or DM, ****wit. Mind you, I
don't see why I should justify myself to someone with the spelling ability
of a retarded 3rd grader.

You dumb **** nothing is spelled wrong in that last post you retard.
And if your not going to answer a question don't say anything. You have made
3 posts here and said NOTHING inteligent. Dont waste our time.

Depending on your MB, you may have to manually adjust the FSB speed on the board itself. If it's set to a default of 100, your 2600+ will show incorrectly as 1.1... After setting it to either 166 or auto, the correct speed will show.

Well thanks Joe put bus to 166 and everythings cool :) . ty. Didnt mean to start a slanging match but thanks guys for seeing my point! I go on a lot of game forums and u see this kinda thing a lot especially when there are new players who just want a lil help ... u get "l33t" players just puttin them down. it aint nice! Thanks again
