Hi all
Can anyone tell me if windows XP cares if your hard drive runs at ATA 66 or
ATA 100.
My friend has a 850 MHZ PC that only supports ATA 66. Can he run win XP on
it.
Thanks
Carl

It was standard not that long ago.It depends on what your
IDE controller on your motherboard supports. If you are
looking to upgrade, at least go with ATA 100 7200RPM, but
yours will work fine with XP...Good luck.
