I have a program called Radmin & of course Remote Desktop, neither will
work.
Ports 4489 and 3389 are open on both computers.
Remote on System Properties is checked, both.
I can ping either computer from the other one, but not connect.
It says cant connect to the server.
I set the IP of the IP that pings and I still cant connect.
Remote Dekstop says remote Sessions might not be enabled on other computer.
I have checked off almost everything in Services on both computers.
Both are XP Pro with DSL and (1) D-Link Router and (1) Linksys
Contacted Tech Support & still no luck, it must be something simple.

I can't speak to Radmin but you might try the following for Remote Desktop.

1. Try to connect using Remote Desktop over the local LAN first to make sure RD is setup and working
correctly on each PC. Use the LAN IP to test.
2. If your sure of the public IP, run this telnet test to see if you can pinpoint a possible
cause......ie. is something blocking TCP Port 3389 for example, like a closed port on a router.

You are "forwarding" the port, right? Not just opening it on the PC.
Often a router will block incoming ports unless you open and forward.
Just a thought. Also I had to have the 'workgroup' name the same on both
PCs before it would connect.
