At&T dial up internet sevice

Can anyone here tell me why I cannot keep a connection
with the AT&T sever longer than 1.5 to 2 hrs I have it set
for 24 hrs. Right in the middle of a download I get an
error telling me cannot download aaa because connection
with server lost. then I have to start over please I know
this is not the right forum for this but I cannot find any
answers to this. Am I screwed as long as I cannot afford
dsl. I am stuck with dialup for now is thier anything I
can do.

again to ask those on here that are intelligent to help

I have no trouble staying connected with AT&T dialup. If you have
call-waiting, make sure that is disabled in the dialing rules. Also, a
noisy phone line can cause random disconnects; not much you can do about
that except switching your service away from dialup.
 
well thats already been disabled but thanks for the tip.
the stayalive program worked I just downloaded a 4 hr
download no disconnects thanx again guys
