I have had this video card for about 2 1/2 months now. The fan started
making a buzzing sound about two weeks ago. I checked to see if wires were
in the way of the operating fan, but they were not. Has anyone had this
problem with their fx5200, or know how to correct the problem without
purchasing a new video card?

I've had a few Radeon cards with the same problem. They put this noisy
annoying little fans on these nice cards.

First make sure that there's no dust/hair in the fan. Realistically though,
I bet it's just the crappy fan. Others may cringe but you might try just
removing the fan completely. LEAVE THE HEATSINK! I unscrewed the little
fan off my Radeon 9600 Pro and it's been perfectly fine. Even after hours
of gaming its not too hot. Now, I wouldn't try overclocking it after doing
this and I'd make darn sure that your case has plenty of circulation (air
in, air out).

Another option is to put a VGA cooler (search Google) on it but that's way
too much effort. Try it without the fan ;-)

Good luck!

You Prbabally need a new Fan which is easy enough to replace but try
and give the old one a blow out with compressed air, This usually
works!
I have a buzzing fan in my power supply but it dies off in a few mins
of use. The manufacturers of these fans need to up on their quality
for these products as its an ongoing problem that needs sorting out.
