ASUSupdate V5.23.01 installation problem

Hello

When i try to installe the ASUSupdate tool v5.23.01 the installation
programme tells me that the setup programme did not detect an ASUS
motherboard.

I have a P4P800 Deluxe motherboard on WinXP

What is going wrong?

Consider yourself lucky; don't update your bios unless you have a real need
for the update. Given the version number it sounds like this was released
in the last few days. If I were you, I'd let other hapless souls test it
out before you take the risks.

I use Win2000 though I have not tested whetehr Asus Update 5.23 would work
or not
so I cannot say.

You may want to re-install it. Or maybe fresh re-install of both XP and Asus
Update
to confirm whether it works or not.

However, unless you feel a need to update BIOS, there is more risk in
updating BIOS
recently. I have once been left with a printer port suddenly stopped working
on
a P4P800 DLX after updating BIOS. I had to buy a replacement.

The first test-use Asus Update 5.23 seems working fine for download, saving
current BIOS
and update from saved bios ROM file; but I am still scared.
