Hello,
The Asus Terminator P4 533A looks like a nice PC.
I am however concerned by the sound of the cooling fans.
Does anyone know, if the standard power-supply can be replaced with a
low-noise power-supply ?
The same question applies for the cpu-cooler.
I am not able to find documentation which includes dimenstions of the
power-supply, nor views of the internal of the PC>
Hopefully, you can help me.
Thanks for your reaction and I hope we all have a swell 2004.
Fred

Yes to both questions.
As long as the PSU is replaced with one that is equal or can supply enough
current when needed.
Antec do quiet PSU's and also a few other companies.
The same goes for Heatsinks(with fan).
That can be replaced with a quieter one.

The PSU is standard ATX size with P4 connector as well as the usual ones.
All ATX PSU's are aboit the same size.

The PSU in a Terminator is NOT a standard ATX PSU. It's very small,
165 W and has no fan. Cool air is sucked through the supply and
exhausted out the rear of the case by the fan on the rear of the case.
The stock CPU fan, which comes with the Terminator works well and
isn't all that loud. When you first turn the Terminator on, you can
hear the fans, but Q-Fan takes over and they both quiet down after
about 20 seconds so that they are practically inaudible.
