My Network Places -> Local Area Connection 2 -> Properties -> Internet
Procotcol (TCP/IP) -> Use the following IP address: 192.168.1.3,
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

reboot, and then logging into <http://192.168.1.1/> gives "refused
connection," or similar error.

any ideas as to why this isn't working?

thanks,

Thufir

sorry, that's 192.168.2.3 for an IP address. then
<http://192.168.1.1/> does indeed bring up the Web Configuration
Utility. from the cd, running the wireless setting utility, the device
is in infrastructure mode, and all works fine. however, the Web
Configuration Utility doesn't give good results with the same settings.
any thoughts?

Thanks,

by that I mean that the internet doesn't work. currently the internet
works fine, but I the Web Configuration Utility itself, or something
related to the utility, mucks things up.
