I just upgraded my 8420 deluxe card to the v9560 video suite card.

I did the Mad onion 2001 3d benchmark. I have tried the stock XP driver,
the driver that came with the card and the latest Nvidia drivers. I am
getting an average of 10,932 this is running AGP8X. My 8420 deluxe was a
TI4600 based 4x AGP card and scored 12,509. It was faster than my new
card....

How could this be? Everything appears to be working properly.

Using the P4G8X latest bios and a INtel 3.06 processor?

ANY ideas would be appreciated..

No all GeForceFX are fasters than GeForce4 Ti.

Only the GeForceFX 5800 y 5900 (ultra and non ultra) are similar or
superior.

Bye.

The newer nVidia based cards are not necessarily faster than the
gForce4 generation when running raw speed tests (with the exception
of the 5900 series which is the fastest nVidia product). Where the FX
is supposed to be faster is when anisotropic and antialiasing are
turned on. Test them with bells and whistles turned on and see how
they stack up. It would be interesting to hear the results of this
test for those of us looking for a graphics card upgrade.

The FX series also support directx 9 which the gForce4 does not,
although there has been speculation that lesser FX cards haven't
really got the poop for directx 9. Guess we will know when the
dx 9 games start coming out.

If you wish to test DX9 features, you'll want to download 3Dmark03 from
Futuremark (formerly Madonion). 3DMark2001 is a DX 8 (or is it 8.1?)
benchmarker.

(3DMark03 ought to make you feel better - it gives low scores to cards that
can't perform its DX9 tests.)

Thanks, this was good info, I was looking at the v9560 myself to replace my
4600 deluxe.
Keep up the good work
