Let me preface this by saying I'm NOT a hardware "geek." I've
installed, taken apart, whatever, but by no means am I an expert. So
please bear with me here if I sound like an idiot or am just
completely missing something obvious.

I recently ordered the ASUS Termintor2 TS-2 barebones system (bought
here: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=56-110-012&depa=0).
It arrived, along with my new processor (a PIV 2.4ghz, 800mhz FSB) and
my 512MB stick of ram. I remove the power supply, I put in my
processor, my ram, my hard drive, replace the power supply, plug the
system in, connect my monitor to the onboard video, turn it on.

I've got one light on the motherboard I can see, the front LCD display
is lit up, the fans are all running...problem is, my monitor, isn't
working. The power light flashes orange, as if it's on but not
receiving a signal or anything (when it's not plugged in, it shows a
"CHECK SIGNAL" message).

I tried installing my GeForce4 into the AGP slot. Same thing.

So - what could cause this? Is there anything maybe I'm failing to do?
Any help would be appreciated.

Is the 2x2 +12V connector plugged in ? There are two power connectors
from the PS to the motherboard - the standard 20pin ATX connector plug
and the 2x2 +12V connector.

The power supply in that thing gives 10A on +12V, so there are going
to be some limits as to how much hardware you can load onto the +12V.
A 3.4GHz processor and a 9800/5950 might be too much.

You might want to check that any subassembly wiring isn't reversed or
shorting or something. I see some of the subassembly connectors
have power on them, and if they got reversed, maybe the PS is
being shorted.

The pictures on the Newegg website are better than the ones in
the manual :-)

If you get it going, give us a mini-review, as there is nothing
on the web about it. People especially like to know whether it
gets too hot or too noisy.

HTH,
Paul
