Hi

Got a P5W DH Deluxe MB with Intel E6600.
Just upgaded from 2gb PC2 5300 to 4gb PC2 6400 (Kingston KVR800D2N5/1G)
four seperate 1gb dimms
On boot PC recognises 4gb, but only at PC2 5300.
On reading various forums this seems to be a commomn problem, and
consequently I need to change setttings manually in bios.
I can't however find the appropriate latency settings to enter for this
particular memory.
Any help advice woiuld be appreciated.

Thanks

The typical parameter order, is listed in slide 24 of this presentation.

http://www.corsairmicro.com/memory_basics/

CAS_Latency, tRCD, tRP, tRAS

This says the stuff is CAS5, but doesn't tell you much else.
I don't see tRCD or tRP.

http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KVR800D2N5_1G.pdf

tRAS is 38ns, and 38ns/2.5ns = 15.2

I'd start at DDR2-800 5-5-5-16 and whatever voltage you feel
comfortable with.

CPUZ can show the timing tables in the DIMM, and you can get
some info from there. Try the SPD tab and see if there is more
than one set of numbers.

http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

If you set the overall memory timings to manual, but leave the
individual settings at Auto, then the BIOS may do the math for
itself. Then check CPUZ later, to see what the memory is being
run with (memory tab). Basically, you'd be selecting DDR2-800
with the memory on Manual, but leaving tCL,tRCD,tRP,tRAS at Auto,
so the BIOS can work it out.

Just a few guesses,
Paul
