My system just stopped with no warning. I can't restart, no beeps, no
fans nothing. The system was working ok all day and I left for a
couple of hours to find that it has shut down. I press the start
button, nothing. I noticed the light on the motherboard is on. I have
tried a different power supply still the same. Please help.

Well, something died. Sounds like motherboard, but no way to be sure
just from your post.

If replacing the power supply didn't fix it, then it sounds like the
motherboard may have failed.

Some additional info. Motherboard is Asus P4T533C with PC800 1024MB
Ram. CPU is Intel P4 3.06 G 400MHZ. Video Card is ATI AIW 9700Pro.
Power Supply Antec True Power 550W. Maxtor 160G Hard drive, Plextor
712A DVD Writer, ASUS DVD/CDROM.

CPU is less than 12 months old. Has always run less than 45 deg C (
Has a Zolman's Heat Sink over it), usually 30 -38 deg.C And Mboard
always in the 25 - 32 deg range.

If my motherboard is toast, any idea where I could buy a replacement
ASUS or any other one that can use my RDRAM?

Thanks.

Call ASUS and get an RMA. The board has a 3 yr warranty. Even if out of
warranty they will fix it for a fee.. Probably cheaper than new board
and ram.

Mine acted that way when I first installed it. After removing it from
the case and re-installing it with only 5 of the 10 mounting screws,
it worked fine. In my case, I think one of the screws had been
causing a short on the motherboard.

I would try removing the board from the case and cleaning off any dust
(or other debris like dead bugs) from the board and the area beneath
it. Then, treat it like a new installation and begin by trying to
start up with a minimum of devices attached.
