ASUS P4PE - Hyperthread - Choppy FPS

Greetings,

I'm hoping someone here can help me. I have the ASUS P4PE with bios
1007, and I'm having a problem with hyperthreading enabled. My system
is the following:

Geforce4 Ti4200 video card with the latest Detonator drivers
Diamond MX300 sound card
512MM PC2700 DDR
60GB Western Digital 7200RPM hard drive

The problem is if I enable hyperthreading, all my 3D games are very
choppy. When I disable it, the games run smoothly. Any ideas how I can
fix this? Thanks.
 
Many programs, including games, were not written to run with Hyper-threading
enabled and stutter or crash. The CD burning program Nero 5.5 freezes when
used with Hyper-threading enabled.
 
I've used nero express with no problems and also use Incd with my 3.0C HT
800 & p4p800d & win xp pro

In fact all my programs run perferctly with HT ...BETTER ))))
