I had two Seagate ST3200822AS drives in Raid and the raid kept dropping out so I rebuild the config with one drive having a partition with the Windows XP boot record and the other drive as storage.
Now I have the problem that when I boot up the computer, it cannot find the boot disk. The ASUS admin panel shows the boot disk as disabled. If I select F8 and get the boot order, the drive is shown and if I select this the computer boots up OK. The problem is that on a reboot the boot drive is not found again so the only way to boot up Windows is to select F8, mark the drive as the boot device and then Windows is found and the computer boots up.
Anyone tell me why, after selecting the boot drive, this info is not remembered? Why isn't the Primary boot disk located?
Regards all,
James
