Can anyone help. I have upgraded my PC from a very old Socket a. The
new PC has a SATA HDD but I want to put my old IDE HDD in. Their is no
information to indicate which HDD is to be made the bootable. I was
hoping to have some kind of dual boot system. Maybee a removable HDD
caddy.

There is a boot settings (section 2.6.1 of the manual). It consists
of two parts. In one part, you specify "floppy", "cd", "hard drive"
as the boot order. Then, there should be a hard drive section,
that shows the hard drive(s) available. You select the one you
want to boot from.

Traditionally, the Asus manual is missing a complete description of
the options. Try PDF pages 54 and 55 here, "Boot Device Priority",
for a little more info. The editable hard drive order menu, allows
moving drives up and down in the list.

Some BIOS have a function key, that when pressed during POST,
offer a mini-boot menu. I don't know which BIOS offer such
things, and an Asus manual is not likely to document it.
(At least, I don't think I've seen it mentioned in an
Asus manual.)
