Hi,

I'm still having trouble reinstalling XP on my new 500Gb Sata drive (see
thread started 16/07/2007)
I need to press F6 when installing windows to specify the drivers. I have
downloaded from the Asus web site what I beleive to be the correct driver,
but it didn't work. The installation tells me that no hard disk disk can be
found to install windows onto. Please could someone who knows confirm to me
exactly what/where the driver is that I need?

I seem to remember when I first set up XP on my current 200Gb Sata drive,
none of the recent drivers on Asus's site worked and I had to use the old
one from the Asus CD. However I cannot find this CD. Maybe someone has it
and could possible send me the files from it that I need ??

The support section of Asus's website is
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us.

My motherboard is a socket 754 K8v SE Deluxe.

I'd appreciate any help and thanks in advance.

Just wanted to add that I realise this mobo cannot handle SATA 300mbs.
I have changed the jumper settings so that it functions at 150mbs and it now
appears in BIOS
Also I can see it under Disk Management mmc when I boot my comp from the XP
installation I have on a different drive.

scroll down to WinXP, driver 1.00.0.26

I would say that's the SATA driver you need.

drop that one onto a floppy and try it.

You may have mistaken the SATA Raid section for downloads.
