Hello everybody,
I recently purchased the motherboard mentioned above.
In the beginning, I was very happy, because I didn't notice any bad
capacitors (RLZ0333).
So, I started to build my system, and - damn - if I was excited.
Just when I was about to mount the motherboard inside my new case, I found
out some brown stuff on top of a couple of capacitors.
I checked them out and, to my big disappoinment, they were THOSE ones.
The other caps are marked RLZ0323, but the two nearest the CPU socket are
RLZ0333.
Now, what should I do?
I read about this issue a long time ago and I thought the problem was
already fixed. :[
They said it was affecting a little amount of motherboards, but I guess it
was not that little.
The motherboard revision is 1.12.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, guys.
Bye.

RMA the board, citing the obvious manufacturing defect. If your retailer
won't do it, contact Asus directly.

Where on the caps did you see the numbers. I didn't see any numbers like
the RLZ03x numbers on the components on my mobos. Granted, I need new
glasses... but if I knew where on the components they put the type markings
it might make it easier.
Thanks

You might try asking the OP. I just responded to his request for advice :-)

Go to the ABIT newsgroup and search for HOMIE (I think his name is
Gary Headlee). He made a business out of repairing bad ABIT boards. He
even sells capacitor kits if you feel like fixing it yourself. A lot
of ABIT users loved his work.

Where on the caps did you see the number? My eyes are getting a bit
farsighted, and when trying, I can see some letters and numbers, but no
"RLZ...." If you could describe it a bit maybe I could double check mine
too.
TIA

Try this link for a picture. Hope this helps.
