0402p.

The latest firmware for your DVD-RW is 1.30 available from ASUS at
http://www.asus.com.tw/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=DRW-0402P
If this is not what you're looking for and you are sure the latest firmware
for a Pioneer A05 is correct for your drive, there are a few of things you
can try.
*If the jumper for the drive is on 'cable select', make it a master - then
test if the program finds the burner.

* Are you sure the princo media are compatible with the drive. Test other
makes ie.. TDK, Verbatim, Imation.
I've never had a problem with TDK's...

Good luck

Put the drive on the end of the IDE chain (remember to set the jumper to
Cable select or Master) and pull the plug on any other CD/DVD drives
that are on the same channel. Enter the BIOS and restrict the drive to
PIO mode 4, do the same in Intel Application Accelerator, if you have
that installed. Disable any virtual drives, ie Nero Image Drive, Daemon
Tools or whatever, if applicable. Also, you might have to run the
firmware upgrader in windows 98 compatibility mode if you're running
Windows XP. Then run the flash tool and upgrade the firmware.
