Anyone know whether P4XP-X support Prescott 2.80A. If not, why?

The problem is, your board supports FSB400 and FSB533 processors.
According to the cpusupport webpage, you can use a 3.06/533
processor, so even though the board has a two phase power supply,
it can still handle a decent processor. AFAIK, the latest
processors are all FSB800 devices, and I don't know if anyone
has been using FSB800 devices in that motherboard - it would
require at the very least, a capable clock generator. So,
check the BIOS to see if 200MHz is offered as a CPU clock source.
Since the manual doesn't show the options, I cannot say whether the
clock gen is capable of trying a FSB800 processor or not.

The other problem would be what happens to your DRAM. The lowest
ratio offered is 1:1, so the ram would run at DDR400 (PC3200 or better)
rates - best case you could only use one stick of DDR, worst case
it wouldn't work at all.

I think a 2.8/533 would be a better purchase than a 2.8E/800.

HTH,
Paul
