I've been running the above board for ages, and it has been a great investment. But one thing's really bugging me about it now.

When I boot up, it pauses while displaying the message "Press <Ctril+S> or F4 to enter RAID" or words to that effect. Hitting ESC gets it out of the way, but otherwise it waits for about 5 sec for a key. I've installed all the RAID drivers (even though I'm not using an array) and the device manager shows no problems at all.

I've looked through all the BIOS settings, but can't seem to get rid of it.

Any ideas?

I can't bear long boot-up times, and 5 secs is nearly long enough to write a whole new operating system... from scratch... in Pascal.

Helping Hand .

I got that Ady but didn`t want to publicise another forum...but if it helps then what the hell...thats what we are here for ..to help each other ;)

Thought you had, thought I'd make it easy for Jock

I don't think this counts as publicising other forums, I think it only applies to sigs etc, and as you say we need other sites info at times to help others :thumb:

i found that same forum, and didnt post for the same reason as Rush.

i didnt read it all, does the guy solve it in the end?

Solved ?

Bigjock should tell us that.. after all it was his dilemma ..so no news probably means it did the trick :thumb:

Well, if I had googled it, I wouldn't have had the pleasure of your company would I? But cheers - I am sure I have disabled the RAID controller in BIOS, but I'll go and look again.

lol soon as I read it I knew thats what you needed to do just aswell I read the whole of the thread ;)
