Asus A7V600 and Q-Fan: not working ?!?

Hello,
I have an Asus A7V600 + AMD Athlon XP3000+ and a CPU fan Delta
(4200-7000 RPM!). SO in Windows XP Pro SP1.
I have enabled on bios:
- CPU temp sensor
- Motherboard temp sensor
- Q-fan (10/15 when the CPU temp is low)

BUT, when the temp exceed 60°C.. the rmp fan don't raise: remain around
4300 rpm! Why???? :'(
The fan raises 7000 rmp on startup, and when Q-fan starts to work,
correctly down to 4250 rmp... but never climbs!

The SAME fan on my previus Asus A7V333 work perfecly!!!

The bios is the official 1006, but also with the 1007.003 beta Q-fan
sems to not working :-?

Is it a 3 pin connector to the cpu fan connector on the board or is it a 4
pin large one with 1 wire connected to the monitor pin on the cpu fan
connector on the board?.
If the second or if the second without the 1 wire to the motherboard
connector then there is no way the fan will be controlled by the board.
A fan has to have 3 wires to the board.
Also if that fan has a manual speed control then it cannot speed up or down
unless set to to fastest setting.
Motherboard fan control cannot speed a fan up above the manual speed control
setting.

The fun is a DELTA 60x60x25 AFB0612EH 37CFM-6800 RPM (3 pins)
and on my previus A7V333 it works perfectly from 4200 to 7000 RMP
dynamically!

So why not set the fan ratio higher? or get a temp controlled fan?

1 - Because at LOW cpu temp (using CPU idle my 3000+ stays around 38°C)
4200 RPM (10/15) are sufficient and the noise is low. Why to set always
7000 RPM with very high noise (37,6 CFM-46,5 dB) at low CPU temp???
Fan ratio is made for this: it establish the fan RPM you want at LOW
CPU temp! When CPU temp raises 60°C Q-fan should to gradually increase
fan RPM up to max if necessary. On my previus A7V333 all was OK with
this fan.

2 - My DELTA AFB0612EH 60x60x25 37,6 CFM - 6800 RPM is relatively new
and is a very powerfull fan! Why change it?

It sounds like the BIOS is not sensing the temperature properly.
Connect fans to all the motherboard fan headers, and see if any
of the fans change speed when the CPU temperature changes. It
could be that the fan headers on the motherboard are not labelled
correctly when it comes to Qfan.

Just a guess,
