Asus A7N8X-X Boot Question

Hey,

A7N8X-X w/K7 processor. Machine will not boot into P.O.S.T. and my monitor
is blank too. I have to power down and restart at least twice to get it
going. Any idea's? Please help, TIA

I had that problem once (years ago), it was the el-cheapo no-name brand
SDRAM I bought to save a few dollars, the mobo died in 12 months too,
probably from all the re-starts! ;p

First thing I'd try is Ram and/or PSU, borrow some parts from friends
before you buy anything if you can or need to.

I don't believe the RAM is the prob. It's Crucial PC3200 CL3 512MB. Any
other suggestions? And the mobo is new, not even a month
 
Have you tried resetting the cimos and setting the correct cpu as i have had
this problem as well and think it was that that caused it..
