Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what item is defect in my system:

Asus A7N8X-Deluxe
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ @1.91Ghz
2x Corsair 512MB PC3200 @Dual channel (CAS:2)
Asus V9570 (FX5700) 256MB (Memory @ ca.500Mhz)
Maxtor 30GB 7200rpm 8MB Cache
Fortron Powersupply 400W

This is about ecerything I have except for the drives which can't cause
the folowing problem:

First I notice that the BIOS beep at startup only beeps when I change
something in the BIOS. The rest (normal startups, restarts) it's
silent. This is only anoying because I have to time when to push Delete
for BIOS setup.

Second is when the system starts up it takes sooo long that everytime I
think 'oh shoot I forgot this mornings newspaper'. Not only at startup
it's slow but also with games, movies and results of benchmarks.
3dMark05 I have strange colors at loading screen. Only with a clean
windows installation it's acceptable fast.

Third and most annoying is often when I watch a movie (DivX etc.) after
half an hour I get the blue screen with Memory dumps. First I had only
16 colors with movies but after a BIOS update that problem was solved.

These are 4 problems where only one has dissapeared.

My question to you people is: has anyone had this problem before and
knows what the issue is. Or maybe you're an expert who reads this and
only has to think for a minute. Please, help me. The store says it's
alright and Asus doesn't wan't to give normal customers a RMA (Retour
code).

The software I use has been 5 different softwares, yes indeed even the
OS.
Windows XP Pro (Corp key), Windows XP Home (legal code), Windows 98 SE,
Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows 95, Linux Suse 9.2, Linux Red
Hat 8.5 (I think) and Knoppix (Linux on CD).

Drivers: Old versions from CD's and other's from nVidia.com also
downloaded from Asus.com.

The things I did to solve problem: Low format on harddisk (Maxtor.com
--> disk maker) and reïnstall all software. I went nuts not to know
what to do after I even put everything (hardware) in another case.

I thank even for an unworthy hint!!!

Checked the battery on your motherboard? Reset your CMOS...

Also sounds to me like you have too much junk running in the background,
which is probably what is slowing down your system... Hit
Control-Alt-Delete and see how many "processes" you have running... This
won't tell you how many things are actually running, but it will give you an
idea...
