I've recently purchased the ASUS Radeon 9600XT 128mb. I'm quite pleased
with the performance and have had no issues running with this card.
....couple questions,

I'm using the driver found on the ASUS website version 7.97. Is this the
best driver to use? can ATI's drivers be used? yes/no/why

I'm using an AGP4X capable mobo, yet under display settings (under
SMARTGART tab) the AGP settings are set to OFF. Possible settings being
off, 1X, 2X, 4X. It states current AGP speed "OFF", current status "OFF".
When I select 4X, pops up says reboot to take effect. Reboot. Setting
sticks on OFF. Why? How can I set it to 4X???

I've got this VIVO connector, is it possible to convert CATV into
composite or svideo?? I thought this card was ready to record tv etc? (ive
heard asus advertised this but it can't do it)

Here's my hardware,

Mobo ASUS P4PE
P4 2.0a Ghz
512 RAM
ASUS Radeon 9600XT.

WTF?

also, anyone know any good sites that have compared ASUS 9600XT
to ATI's 9600XT? Is the performance atleast on par with ATI's model?

I've fixed the problem....installed latest chipset drivers for my mobo. Now
the card checks off aas 4X AGP.

EXCEPT now it's running slower than before, shitty framerates and poor
overall performance. Any ideas?

What mainboard? Via drivers? I had loads of probs in the past.

after updating the M/B drivers..try a reinstall of the vid card drivers...I
had that happen after I updated my Nforce drivers for my m/b.
