I bought this card:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814121216

and put it in my system:

P4 2.8Ghz 800Mhz FSB
SY-P4I 845PE V1.0 mobo
http://www.soyogroup.com/products/proddesc.php?id=241&PHPSESSID=510934056d632d895891ebc3512564c0
768MB of ram

I benchmarked the card in 3Dmark05 and got a pitiful score of 2250. From
what I've seen, it should be around double that. I then benchmarked it in
3Dmark03, and got a score of 5600, and that should be over 10,000.

Does anyone know what's going on? My FX5500 performed better than this
thing. I've checked the GPU clock, and it's running at stock speed. Am I
missing some simple setting? I know this should be several times better than
what I had before.

I've tried using Nvidia drivers version 8x.xx and up, but when it comes to
the install, my monitor gets vertical lines in it, loses signal and shuts
down. I can completely install the drivers in safe mode, but when it comes
to restart back into normal Windows, I get the same monitor shutdown again.
I've tried drivers version 64.x and up, and they all work fine, except for
the lack of performance.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Ok, it seems that I've done something incredibly stupid, and ignored the
fact that my mobo is only 4x agp. So, in effect, my card is only going to
work at half speed, correct?

No. 8X agp wouldn't make that big a difference over 4X. Try updating your
motherboard drivers including the AGP driver(not the same as video drivers).
Re-install DirectX9 too.
And,did you connect the power connector on the card?

Yup, additional power has been connected, and reconnected. I'm having
problems finding an updated AGP controller, and Direct X9 has be
reinstalled. I updated the chipset drivers, but the AGP controller driver
still is the old version.

My chipset is the Intel Brookdale i845PE . I can't seem to find the AGP
drivers on the Intel website:
http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/cs-009236.htm

Should I be looking at Nvidia's website for the drivers?
