Hi.. Not sure if this is a PowerPoint issue or not, but a co-worker in
another city has told me that a PowerPoint presentation I sent him, where I
had entered text boxes with 8 point arial text "* p<.05"

is telling me that the asterisk is appearing as an apostrophe instead. There
is an Arial asterisk (larger font) in the graph (pasted directly from Excel;
editable & not a picture) on the slide, which does appear as an asterisk to
him.

Does anyone know why this might be?

Only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that the graph is being
resized in PPT, and the textbox where the *p-value is housed is getting
squished. (Squished is a technical term, you know. <g>)

Try double-clicking the textbox in Excel and setting an internal left margin
of .1" on the Margin tab. Maybe also try using "size with chart" on the
Properties tab.

I don't know if that will help or not, but I can't repro the problem here,
so it's hard to come up with a solution.

Oh, is the asterisk appearing as an apostrophe for the co-worker on-screen
in slide show view, on-screen in normal edit view, or when printing? If it's
when in normal edit view, have him see if it shows up correctly when in
slide show view.
