We are currently running Windows 2000 SP4 with active directory in our
school.
I have created several OU's for classroom locations. Each OU has the
relevant PC object for the room in its container.
All accounts are in a STUDENTS OU. Each student roams throughout the school.
What I need is for the PC not the Student account to remember the printer
that is local to that classroom.
Is it possible to assign printers through the classroom OU so they stick
with the PC's. So whoever logs onto workstation 1 in classroom 10 always
gets the classroom 10 printer.
I have looked at the location bit of group policy but what i have read you
need more than 1 site/subnet. My network is a single site/subnet.
Each workstation is running Windows XP SP1. All printers are shared and
published in AD on a windows 2000 server.
THANKS
