Assign a category list to a public Folder

I have set up a public contact list for our company and
want to use a specific category list for each of these
contacts i.e. a public category list. I have done this
from our server however when a user goes to the public
contact list and tries to enter a category they get their
catagory list and not the one set up. How can I assign the
required category list to always be used with this public
folder?

I came across your reply on this post about Niall's desire for specific categories. I'm searching for a possibly related solution to making the contacts of a public folder be the default for someone creating a Task item in an associated Tasks folder. (i.e. I have a public folder under which I have a contacts (clients) 'folder' and a Tasks 'folder' where we'd like to add tasks and relate them to that specific contacts folder).
Any suggestions appreciated
