I'm trying to assigin a drive letter to an external USB
hard drive. I would like to assign it G: instead of the
current F: that comes up. In Win9x you could go to the
properties settings under the Hardware Devices and specify
a particular drive letter to a device. It doesn't appear
that you can do this is Win 2K???

I have all my music files on this external drive that was
previously connected to a Win9x box. I upgraded the box to
Win2K and this changed the drive lettering. I don't want
to have to go through and change all of the library
settings.

Thanks,
Rob

Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management

Under Storage you will see Disk Management, click the envelope. Right
click drive you want to change, on right, (top or bottom) click "Change
drive letter and path"
Keep in mind that if another drive has the letter G, you have to change
that first in order for G to become available for another drive.

Later!
