Asp .net 2.0 webform controls not being freeform for placement

Hi,

Has anyone else had a problem where you create a ASP page (i'm using
asp 2.0 beta2) and in design view controls are being forced to left
focus? I remember in visual studio 2003 I was able to basically put
controls on the webform anyware I wanted. Here i'm basically kind of
stuck. Has anyone else run into this? Thanks in advance. Robert

I'm still using Beta 2 although I just learned RC1 is supposed to be
available via MSDN Subscriber Downloads. I think I am going to go through
the uninstall - reinstall mambo as Beta 2 is a slow pig that mangles my
source and aggravates the hell out of me and November 7th is still over a
month and a half from now.

One of the reasons we are having these problems is because the middle
management has been pimpin' and pittin' different product development teams
against one another making a mockery of the term 'team.' For years now each
new product or upgrade manifests itself with a new IDE in damn near every
product that supports a text editor and/or a designer interface.

I seems the executive management has finally accepted that their middle
managers have turned the product lines into FUBAR sh!tware as the trade mags
and blogs are buzzing about Microsoft's organizational reorganization and
quality is one of several issues that has been expressed as a matter of
concern.

Damn well about time.

<snip />

Just got back from MSDN Subscriber Downloads. No Visual Studio RC1.
