I'm a dot net cherry!
I'm asking this question in this group because I'll probably use fp to edit
and publish.

I usually do best to come to an understanding of something by getting into
an existing app and taking it from there.

My question is this:
I'd like to find one of the dot net portal apps:
(ibuyspy, rainbow portal, dot net nuke, the "community starter kit" from
asp.net, etc.).
I want to get into one with the best opportunity for modules and add-ins and
a good community of developers.

Can anyone recommend one of these portals or possibly one I haven't seen
yet?

TIA
chris

I guess what I'm asking is for opinion on which of the available "portals"
in .net would be the best to start with, factoring things like availability
of modules and size/ quality of the dev community on that particular portal.
there are several:
IBS, DNN, Rainbow, etc...
I'm just wondering if anyone in this ng has or knows someone whose had any
experience with any of them.
I'm trying to get started using the best one rather than figure out I should
have chosen differently after I spend a bunch of time on it. ;-)

thanks ill take it under advisement. im seeing a lot more modules available
and stuff for the DNN, which is supposed to be based on the IBS. then I
suppose I'll have to agonize over vb.net or c#.net.

Chris,

A new up and comming project is OmniPortal. It has may features like
plugable modules, authentication, and will soon be compatible with any
ADO.Net database, this means support for MySQL, MSSQL, Access, and XML
in the future.

You can find more information over at
http://sf.net/projects/omniportal, or http://beta.omniportal.net, or
http://omniportal.sf.net. Also I encourage you to read the
documentation over in http://sourceforge.net/docman/?group_id=54624.

If you would like to join the group please contact Nick at
_nberardi_[at]_omniportal.net_.

Thanks,
Nick
