Sometimes when I try to make a new post as I click on the New Question button
all I get is a refreshing of the main page. I have signed in and have allowed
pop ups but it just refreshes over and over. Then I sign out and in again a
few times and for some reason it works and brings up the new question box am
I missing a procedure somewhere? Charlie

You're having difficulties because you are using the web interface to these
Usenet newsgroups - the worst possible way to access these groups. You
should set up a real newsreader instead. This is extremely easy to do.
Below is information that will help you. Most of us regular helpers don't
use the web interface (I looked at it once and was repelled) so can't
answer questions about it.

Since you are using the web interface, you may not realize that this is
really a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn
to use a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you
can use Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have
it. Here are some links to information about newsgroups:

The reason you're having such problems is that you are using the awful
web interface to participate in this newsgroup--it's the slowest,
clunkiest, most error-prone method there is. Do yourself a favor and
switch to a newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with
Windows. See

Change Name

Charlie3110,

Follow the excellent advice you've received. I, too, was using the web
interface and encountering various and sundry problems. I've just today
switched to Outlook Express and now I'd rather fight than switch back to the
web interface. OE is quicker, easier to use, more powerful, and less
troublesome.
