makers indicate that supplies of the Athlon 64 3000+ and dual-core
Athlon 64 X2 3800+ CPU lines from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) are
already short of demand in the Asia-Pacific region. AMD has responded
that the shortage should ease in 1-2 weeks.

Strange that they should get into a situation of tight supplies, when
they had built up a huge inventory during their last earnings period.

The shortage is model-specific, not a general problem. It's the
low-price models that are in short supply. It seems the marketplace
doesn't want to buy the expensive stuff. Gee, in PC-land, who woulda
thunk? ;-)
