I recently loaded the ASF Plug IN into MS Powerpoint 97 - when I record a Narration then click on tools - I get the following error message "Publish to ASF Add-In encountered an error exporting audio"

When I record narrations I am using the recommended 11.025khz , 8 bit mono. I am using XP professional and when I play the Powerpoint it works fine with the Audio.

I am trying to save the Powerpoint file along with Audio as a Stream File to be published on a website for Streaming Audio if there is another way this can be accomplished please let me know you can email me @ (e-mail address removed)
Thanks much
MIke T.

I suspect the issue is that that plug-in was designed for PPT 97 and doesn't
work in PPT 2002 (aka PPT XP).

Out of curiosity, where did you find that plug-in?

Open your ppt file with PowerPoint 2000, save it as web pages, then you can
find your Narration is saved as xx_slide001.wav, xx_slide002.wav,..., join
these files with Windows Movie Maker( you have it since you are using
Windows XP) and save as a wma stream file.

This is the page where I found instructions to the Plug in - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;16084
after following the instructions it did successfully load the ASF Button to my Tools Menu on both Office Powerpoint 97 and Office Powerpoint 2000 but could not upload for I got an error message that I still could not figure out how to resolve.

But I did learn from this Technet Group how to save it as a WebPage and am trying to figure a way to have the sound play in the browser after saving it as a Web Page. If you know a way let me know! Otherwise I have received one tip to make a Movie out of my presentation (using XP movie maker) and tried 2 slides and that seems to work but I've got to figure a quicker way to turn the entire file into a wma or asf file vs 1 at a time.

Thanks a million I have saved the file as a Webpage and that worked fine but was wondering when it appeared in the Browser I could not get sound to play. Is there anyway to have it play the Narration in the browser with the narration that was recorded on it? on the bottom left hand corner the sound icon appers but no sound. Once this is accomplished if I set up the link to our Web Site would anyone with Internet Explorer and Netscape be able to view and hear?

On the other hand I have also tried saving it as .jpeg in Powerpoint which imports into the Movie Maker in Xp that you recommended and I would have to re-record each of the Narrations and place them in the movie to have it save that way and was wondering with the Slide Presentation with Narration that I've already Recorded is there a way to save the entire file as a Streaming file without each slide and sound file being set up separately? If so let me know otherwise I see that importing it into the XP Movie Maker would be the only option.

Also last but not least I clicked on the link in your email for presentersoft software and downloaded it but could not get any of my presentations to load into the software and that could be because 1 Presentation is a Training which is about 25 Slides with Audio and I have a Presentation File of 12 Slides with Audio and that one would not load either.

1. It seems easy enough software but these are my questions if I purchased it could I load a Powerpoint Training or Sales presentation with 25+ Slides with Narration and have this set up through the software so that it could be uploaded to our Website?
2. Is there support for Novices?
3. Is there a Website that I can view that is using the software that has Audio and a Powepoint Presentation that I can view? if so can you send me the link?

If you can answer these questions then by weeks end if I can temporarily use the Browser with Audio as a band aid and you can recommend me to a site where the Audio and Powerpoint Pres are displayed I feel within a week I would be ready to purchase next Monday.

Again thanking you for your assistance I remain
appreciatively yours,
Mike T.

Ah, thanks for that kb article link. I was searching the Office Online
downloads area and couldn't locate the info on it. Since it's on the Office
Value Pack on the CD, that explains why. (Thought I was losing it there for
a minute!)

Kathy J has good info on how to do this. See
