It is for the AMD 64 ( 939 ) up to 4000+ .... cost $18 .
Standard AMD pc cooler runs over 4000 rpm and
is plenty noisy. Idle temp on mine was 38 degrees C.
My BIOS says the Silencer is running at 680 rpm,
and the idle temp is 33 degrees C. I can barely
hear the 92mm fan. Nice. I ran a video benchmark,
and the temp went to 38, and rpm went to about
700.
The Silencer is simple to install. It clipped directly
in place of the stock cooler. You just have to hold
your mouth right because it has two thumb latches.
I'm now running nearly silent because I installed
a very good VGA cooler ( vf900 ) on my nVidia
GF7900GTO, and it is also nearly silent. I cannot
even tell if the box is on from 10 feet away.
