N
not me
Hi,
My mate has recently built up a new machine.. It has a pcchips (sis)
mainboard (m878a or something like that), 2 sticks of ddr 333 ram and a
geforce fx 5200 graphics card.
The problems he's been having include resetting of the machine, and
artifacts on certain games (on menu screens mostly). This can be solved by
using either one of the ram sticks.. it was also solved for a couple of days
(coincidence?) by putting the ram in slots 1 and 3 (missing out the middle
slot).
We've tried the latest sis/geforce drivers, and alternatives in the case of
the geforce.
Another problem is that motherboard monitor, and sandra report very high
temperatures.. (in excess of 130 degrees celcius.. which I can't see
happening). When looking through the bios the temp is a more reasonable
46-48 degrees.
So, any ideas?? I know details are a little sketchy but there's not much
else we can think of.
Cheers,
Chris
