Hi

Does the arrangement of web browser applications/softwares registered in a
PC registry at HKLM\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet has any impact on the
prefered web browser to be used? PC is running XP pro.
i.e. if a PC has the following setting in this order at
HKLM\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet:
[HKLM\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet \NETSCAPE.EXE]
[HKLM\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet \IEXPLORE.EXE]

even though IE is chosen as the default web brower, is IE now the real
default browser or it depends situation and applications used?

Thanks and regards
Martin

Martin,

The StartMenuInternet registry settings applies only to the Start Menu and does not impact on the default browser setting. Default browser settings basically depends on the http, html and other file-type associations.
