Arial font gone wrong

I have XP Home Edition and SP2 installed. I wonder how has the Arial font
changed? Now the normal Arial is the same as Arial Italics, and it distracts
me. How can I change it back to normal without reinstalling XP? All programs
and games that use Arial shows Arial italics.

Probably some program that you have installed has replaced the Arial
font with its own version or the Arial font has been damaged. Check to
make sure the Arial font in your Fonts folder is not a shortcut. If it
is, delete it and replace it with the actual font file.
