J44xm said:Too many? AFAIK, the install gives you the option to not install one
program. There's no other spyware that I know of.
What KCEasy has 5 spyware components or is it Ares youa re talking about?Steven said:I installed it a few months ago when trying to decide which P2P program to
use (finally decided on KCEasy) and it installed 5 different spyware
components ( (Spybot is my friend <g>)

Fran said:shareaza is currently the most popular p2p tool, kazaa lite is also pretty
good, though it's pretty hard to find.
PuppyKatt said:I opted out of the NavExcel when I installed. I then ran AdAware,
Spybot S&D, and McAfee. There is good news, bad news, and worse 1. No virus detected. Good news.
2. Spybot S&D found nothing. Good news, but only because of AdAware;
3. AdAware found 1 cookie from realmedia, 1 cookie from statcounter,
10 reg deys from NavExcel, 1 folder from NavExcel, and * files from
NavExcel. Bad News.
4. After running the bot killers, I attempted to run Ares. I get
taken to a google page that says there is no such page. There is a
player, but you must have something to play. some other link it took
me to was to download some p2p programs for a fee.
In summary, mention of this program does not belong in this newsgroup.
It is Spyware of the worse kind, and installs the crap even when you
tell it not to, then disables the P@P that it is supposed to have once
you clean the computer. I will stick to eMule for now. -PK-
