When I input a phone number in the contacts,
e.g. 86 111 111 111
it will automatically formatted to be 86 (111) 111 111

Is there any way to disable the bracket?
Thanks.

No, formatting of phone numbers is hard-coded. What happens when you leave it alone and try to use the phone number as masked?

Thanks for your reply.
if leave alone, my Nokia E61 cannot dial the number with the bracket

Have you examined the documentation for the sync software you use to see if
it has an option to disregard the parentheses?

Do you use the Windows Telephony service?

If not, Pause (one time stop) it in Admin tools, Services. You can Disable
it so won't start after reboot, if you don't use any telephony within
windows. When its stopped, numbers added will not be formatted. (It will not
apply to previously entered numbers.)
