Are Windows Automatic Updates delivered via http or ftp?

I've setup my firewall to block all outgoing http and https traffic from a
terminal server on my network so that the clients logging onto the terminal
server cannot browse the web from it. I was just wondering if this was going
to affect the automatic updates feature or not. Thanks.

Have a look at C:\WINNT\Windows Update.log
It appears to use HTTP.
