Are these window updates?! Or viruses....

The last 2 window updates have been really doing harm to my computer. First, I get a windows update, I shutdown, and Now I can't use my main profile. It's gone. It runs Explorer.exe at 99% and all the icons are gone...Well I managed without my main profile...Now I get the latest window's update, and low and behold, I can't open any programs or .exe's. Not Windows media player, Not my game programs or anything. These updates are doing more harm then good. I'm afraid to see what the next one will do. If someone could please tell me how to uninstall the last 2 window updates, or a solution to fix the problems I have, please share me the info.

You can remove updates via add/remove in control panel or
do a system restore to a date prior to the installtion.
Doug Knox has a fix for your .exe problem at
www.dougknox.com it can be found in xp utilities good

Where did you get them from?
Email?
Microsoft NEVER sends them by Email:

Otherwise, which ones were they?
Some can be uninstalled in Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
Others can not be uninstalled except by System Restore
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore

Where did you get these updates? From the Microsoft website or from
e-mails?


If you got these in e-mails and just 'installed' them, they're not
from Microsoft, they're viruses!!

At any rate, try to use your System Restore points and restore to a
date before you installed these updates.
