Are there special features to look for in a PATA DVD burner?

I need to buy an internal PATA, DVD-burner.

Is there any feature I should look for? They all seem to read and
write the same kinds of disks eith the exception of item #1 below.

I see 2 things that distinguish DVD burners:

1) Dual-Layer. From what I've seen so far, all of them are SATA, and
this old mobo expects PATA optical drives.

2) Speed, but I don't really care about speed. If it took 30 minutes
it wouldn't bother me, because I don't burn very many disks and I
always have other things to do

You're getting a fair amount of response to the threads you've already
begun on this topic. It would make sense to continue your discussion there.

I didn't know what to do. When I posted, two guys had just old me I
didn't need another drive, so I gave up and posted here. But after
that I saw a long answer about features on DVD drives, that I'm still
digesting.

The thread here " Types of DVDs? -R +R Etc. Which one is most
standard?" started by davej is also pretty good.
