Hi all - PPT 2002 XP, WinME

I was wondering if there are any greeting card style templates for PPT, that
can be used to create card style slide shows. Something like the e-cards,
only...like when you click the front page, it looks like it is opening to
the inside of the card. Plus, if you want to print the 'card', it will
format each 'page' to print like a card. (i..e, like the inside/outside of
the card).

I realize that the print out of such a 'card' would not include any
animations, but, I have created some nice greeting card like slides, and
when I send them to friends, family, or prepare for clients, they want to
print out the 'card' to share.

Is there any template like this available? Or any ideas on how I can create
one myself? I think this would be a really neat feature. But, my uses are
sort of outside and unique to the general use at times.

Best regards,

Jan :)

Hello,

PowerPoint doesn't provide the functionality that you are looking for.
Greeting card printing functionality in Office is owned by Publisher and
there is no easy way to take your PowerPoint content and move it into
Publisher for printing your greeting cards.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality, don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

Hi Jan,

Here's an idea, In landscape format, mentally divide your slides into two
sections (one rectangle on the left, one rectangle on the right) for the
first slide, create the front of your greeting card on the right half of the
slide, use the wipe left slow to transition to the second slide with the
message. On the second slide, place two messages (or images) on both sides.
You could make it more evident by placing a line down the center for the
fold. Should look ok when ran as a PPT and when printed.

Yeah.....that sounds like it might work. I like the slow transition part.
I'll give that a go.

Thank you very much, I truly appreciate it! :-)
