Howdy,
I have a LAN that includes a 150 meter run of fiber optic
line.
Right now, on each end, our (Win 2000 and XP) systems talk
to each other over that line using 100mbps NICs. Mostly, we
use that remote system to store images of the systems in our
office, and so, the files are sometimes on the order of 20
gig in size. As you would guess, it takes a while...
If we went to 1000mbps NICS, would we see faster speeds, or
would the fiber (or something else) be the gate.
Thanks for any thoughts on this,
