are drivers needed?

Just got a 4 port 2.0 USB pci card to stuff in my desktop. The USB ports
now in it are 1.1s and slow as molasses on big data transfers.

The card came in a box, with a small disk labelled "drivers". I have no
drive small enough to run the disk in.

I thought this thing was a "plug 'n play" thingee. If so, will it work
without my having to use the drivers (running WinXP).

If I need the drivers, how do I deal with the small disk?

Maybe. I could probably be more specific if I actually knew what card
you're talking about.

If it's just 8 cm (diameter) optical disc, it should work in your
optical drive. The only spot that might cause a problem would be if you
have your pc turn up on its side such that the drive is vertical, in
spite of the system builder's expectations.

The card is a PCI MULTI I/O

The disk is approx 2" diameter.

I think all I've got is a floppy drive that is about the size of the disk.

It goes into your CD drive.

Better yet, go to their website and dowload the latest drivers.

I think I inadvertently misinformed everyone. The pci multi i/o is a
serial-parallel port card. I think my card was just sent in a pci multi
i/o box, as my card is definitely a 5 port 2.0 USB card. This was what the
listing says:

PCI USB2.0 Controller Card VIA chipset 4+1 ports
