Are different MTUs possible on the same LAN?

Hello!

Our new network switch and some of the other systems in the office
support "jumbo frames" -- ethernet frames above 1500 bytes.

Can a Windows server (2003 Server or earlier) be configured to use a larger
MTU, when talking to some of the machines on the same LAN, while keeping
the 1500 as a default for all others?

Thanks!

MTU is set per network interface, so if you are using only one network
interface the answer is no.

They can also be set per route. So, theoretically, if I add a
special "manual" route for one host on the LAN, there is a place, where I
could specify a different MTU.

It seems to not work, of course, wherever I tried, but FreeBSD and
DragonFlyBSD may soon grow this feature. I was wondering, if Windows has it
already. I guess, not :-(

Thanks!
