Are 20 megs too much for a pp presentation?

My photos are between 20 and 100 k, all of them jpgs.

I wonder if this size is too much for a humble windos 98 laptop?

Thanks

Because of the way JPGs are compressed, it's hard to tell their true size from
the file size.

Assuming you have PPT 97 or later, open each picture in MS Photo Editor.

The size in pixels will appear in the lower right corner of the screen.
If it's roughly the same as the display resolution you use on your PC (800x600,
1024x768 etc) you should be ok.

If it's much larger, use the Image, Resize command, set Units to Pixels and set
it to match your display resolution, then save as a NEW filename. Insert that
file into PPT using Insert, Picture, From File (not
drag/drop/copy/paste/whatever)
